In addition to my crosswords for Morning Brew, I also publish crosswords in other venues.

Comments: This puzzle probably went through more iterations than any other crossword I’ve made. I’ve long admired so-called “Schrödinger” puzzles and am pleased to finally have one with my name on it. - The Modern Crossword, 3/4/23, Title: Suit Yourself
Comments: The Modern Crossword can be found here. A subscription is required to play puzzles from their archive. This puzzle was nominated for Best Easy Crossword of 2023 at the ORCA awards. - The L.A. Times, 1/16/23

Comments: The closest to a solvable link to this crossword seems to be going to the Chicago Tribune’s run of the L.A. Times crossword and choosing the desired date in the calendar icon (1/16/23). - Fireball Crosswords, 7/27/22, Title: Laws of Attraction
Reviews: crossword fiend - Lil AVC X, 7/26/22, Title: You Complete Me
Reviews: no formal reviews but it was listed among “Indie puzzle highlights” for that month on Will Nediger’s blog
Comments: Lil AVC X is an indie crossword publication that specializes in “midis” (crosswords in the 9×9 to 11×11 range) with boundary-pushing themes. This is one of my cooler puzzles. It’s PDF only. - The New York Times, 3/30/22
Reviews: NYT Wordplay column | xwordinfo
Comments: If I could make this one again, I would make a lot of changes. The theme is amusing enough but the fill could be cleaner. - Universal Crossword, 12/11/21 , Title: Sandwiched In

Comments: This is one of my quirkier puzzles and it was really fun to develop. After clicking the link, select the date December 11th. This downloads the crossword as a .puz file, which is best opened in Across Lite (my favorite software for solving). - Fireball Crosswords, 11/3/21, Title: Answer Me This

Reviews: NYT Wordplay | xwordinfo | crossword fiend | Rex Parker
Comments: My first NYT crossword to be accepted (second one to run). This was accepted the morning after my wedding, pending a grid change. I updated the grid and wrote all of the clues on the beach during our honeymoon in Aruba. Good memories. - The New York Times, 11/4/20

Comments: Getting a glowing review from Rex Parker (the Simon Cowell of the crossword world) on my debut NYT puzzle was a unique thrill. - The Wall Street Journal, 9/17/20, Title: Namedropping

Comments: My first published crossword and still one of my favorite themes I’ve done. I was pretty green when I made this and at the time I was enamored with devilish, ultra-tricky clues. So I packed my puzzle with them, not appreciating that solvers like a reprieve. I have since learned the virtue of variety in cluing. That said, one of my clues in this puzzle was named “clever clue of the month” on this blog. The clue is almost an inside joke for the crossword community. The unfortunate word HOER (as in “one who uses a hoe, the garden tool”) appears too often in puzzles. It’s a prime example of crosswordese: obscure words that appear way more often in puzzles due to their fill-friendly letter patterns than they do in real life. In my puzzle, I used “Hoer?” instead as a punny clue for SANTA.
